El Velero Playa del Inglés is a Mediterranean restaurant positioned right along the beachfront promenade of P.º Costa Canaria. Its location makes it a natural spot to settle in for a relaxed meal while watching the steady flow of people enjoying the sands and sea nearby.

The vibe here leans toward casual dining with a distinctly local feel. It's a place where both visitors and residents pause to enjoy familiar Mediterranean flavors without fuss. The menu offers a diverse range of dishes, from seafood staples like garlic prawns and paella de marisco to more varied options including Canarian grilled fish and hearty plates such as lasagna or the half chicken with French fries and salad. Having a bowl of parmesan served alongside spaghetti bolognese is one of those thoughtful touches reflecting care in presentation.

Service strikes a balance between professional and friendly, with attentive staff that create an inviting atmosphere. It’s common to encounter a mix of people here—from couples stopping by for a casual dinner to groups gathering for drinks in the early evening, as cocktails come at approachable prices.

The proximity to the beach defines the rhythm at El Velero. Lunchtime or early evening are ideal moments to visit, when the light complements the sea view and the buzz of passersby adds to the dining experience without overwhelming it. This makes it particularly suited for those who enjoy meals accompanied by people-watching or a gentle ocean breeze.

In essence, El Velero feels like a straightforward yet warmly authentic spot for good Mediterranean food by the shore—a spot for those who value unfussy meals paired with a seaside ambiance and welcoming local hospitality.

Good portion size for a menu that costs 10.95€. Food tastes great. The atmosphere is good because it is right next to the beach. A lot of people passing by.

Another chapter added to our culinary adventures! El Velero was an exceptionally inviting establishment. From the moment we approached, a friendly host greeted us with enthusiasm, eager to present the menu filled with tempting options. After much deliberation, we opted for the day's fresh catch, complemented by the traditional Canarian fish. The meal was nothing short of exquisite. Each bite of the fish was perfectly flaked and infused with a radiant seasoning that danced on our taste buds, making it a truly mouthwatering experience. El Velero not only succeeded in offering us delightful flavors but also created a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made our dining experience unforgettable.Thank you again!

We stopped here for a relaxing coffee and cake before walking along the beach and dunes to the lighthouse. A lovely bar/cafe with views overlooking the beach and very attentive staff. The apple cake was amazingly delicious and beautifully presented and for the price we paid for 2 and 2 coffees we felt we robbed them. The whole place was very clean including the toilets
